Make in India is taking Shape, Global Companies Showing Interest: Finance Ministry
Aug 08, 2015: The Corporate Giants- Sony and Foxconn have announced to set up manufacturing in India. Finance Ministry said it to be the "budget boosters" and indicating "Make in India” is taking a real picture.
"Sony, Foxconn, and many more are going to manufacture in India. Budget booster in indirect taxes is silently working for domestic manufacturing.
Make in India taking shape," Revenue Secretary Shaktikanta Das has told on the social website -Twitter.
Foxconn makes iPhone, iPad and other Apple products. Foxconn is already in talks with manufacturing factories in India like - Adani group and some others.
Foxconn Chairman and CEO Terry Gou said that the company would love to invest in the country as there are huge opportunities in this market and is in conversation with the local companies.
Gou said, "Foxconn is in talks with billionaire Gautam Adani's Group for electronics manufacturing facilities and has visited Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat to scout for possible locations for the facilities".
The Giant Taiwan-based firm is working with Micromax and Snapdeal also.
Make in India is going to promote India as a Global hub for manufacturing. The Government is inviting the giant companies to invest in India and to cash the opportunities. It will boost the employment and investments in India.
