At Dinner With Fortune 500 CEOs, PM Modi Serves up a New India
Sep 25, 2015: The Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendera Modi represented a New India at the dinner with Fortune 500 CEOs. The New India that has booming opportunities in investment and that is experiencing a positive change in Economy. The powerful CEOs of top 500 companies had a dinner with PM Modi in New York that includes traditional Indian dishes.
This dinner was organized by the Fortune Magazine. The message was clear to everyone that India is open for business and ready to welcome the investment opportunities. PM Modi expressed his vision of Make in India.
"Reform in governance is my Number One priority. We are for simplified procedures, speedy decision making, transparency & accountability," PM Modi told them. "Foreign Direct Investment all over the world has fallen, but in India it increased by 40 per cent. This reflects confidence in the Indian economy."
Among these 500 CEOs, The talk witnessed Lockheed Martin Chairman and CEO Marillyn Hewson, IBM Chairman Ginni Rometty, PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi, and Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
Mastercards’ CEO, Mr. Ajay Banga said that the US is seeking for the ease in doing business with India. According to Mr. Banga, to generate great job opportunities, India needs to reform the laws in GST, manufacturing, infrastructure and tourism.
