Private Equity Inflows may Hit Record $20 Billion This Year
Oct 22, 2015: The track of Private Equity investments in India has been setting up new expectations. According to Bain Consulting, that consults PE firms in India and world, the PE Transactions will hit $20 billion this year. In 2007, it was $12.1 billion. The consumer technology sector, financial services, and real estate space have got the highest number of investments.
India is changing at a fast pace. Everything is going online. From consumer goods to financial services, only a smart phone is enough. The E-commerce section is at the peak.
During the first nine months of 2015, PE investments have already touched $16.7 billion. "The growth trend indicates that PE investment activity this year will surpass 2007, which was the best period so far," said Madhur Singhal, consulting principal, private equity practice, Bain Consulting.
A break up of investments is as below. The consumer technology sector has been the most favorite sector of investors. It attracted investments worth $5.4 billion. The real estate and financial services got $3.6 billion and $2 billion investments respectively in the first nine months of this year.
