Finance Ministry Sets up Cell to Implement Pay Panel Recommendations
November 26, 2015: The Finance Ministry has started an “Implementation Cell” to execute the instructions of the Seventh Pay Commission. These recommendations are accepted by the government of India.
The cell will be headed by a Joint Secretary level officer. It has been established in the Department of Expenditure for one year on November 20, 2015.
According to an office notice, the Implementation Cell will execute the "accepted recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission".
The Seventh Pay Commission had recommended a 23.55 per cent hike in salary, wages, and pension of government staff, including an additional outgo of Rs 1.02 lakh crore in 2016-17.
