E-Aadhar Card Download Feature
- E-Aadhar is an electronic format of the physical Aadhar card contains the biometric & demographic details including Aadhar number, photograph and demographic details including name, date of birth and gender etc.

How to Download E-Aadhar Card
E-Aadhar can be downloaded using the following details of the individual.
E-Aadhar Card Download using Enrolment ID (EID)
Step 1. Visit the Aadhar official website.
Step 2. Click on the sub-option select ‘Download Aadhar’ below the option ‘Get Aadhar’.
Step 3. A new window will pop up, click on the option Enrolment ID (EID).
Step 4. Enter the Enrolment ID which is a 14 digit number and click on the masked Aadhar (if you don’t want to show full digits of your Aadhar number.)
Step 5. Enter the 14-digit date-time stamp which is printed on the enrolment slip.
Step 6. Enter the CAPTCHA (to confirm). OTP details and downloads your E-Aadhar.
Download E- Aadhar using Virtual ID (VID)
Step 1. Visit the Aadhar official website.
Step 2. Click on the sub-option ‘Download Aadhar’ below the option ‘Get Aadhar’.
Step 3. A new window will pop up click on the option Virtual ID (VID).
Step 4. Enter the Virtual ID which is a 16 digit number.
Step 5. Enter the CAPTCHA, OTP details and download your E-Aadhar.
Download Aadhar Card without EID/UID
Aadhar card is a 12-digit unique identifiable number. An individual can download the Aadhar using the unique identification number. Steps are as follow:
Step 1. Visit the Aadhar official website UIDAI.
Step 2. Click on the sub-option ‘Download Aadhar’ under the option ‘Get Aadhar’.
Step 3. A new screen will pop up click on the option ‘Aadhar Number’.
Step 4. Enter the Aadhar Number, submit the CAPTCHA code and click on Send OTP.
Step 5. Now, enter the OTP details to download your e-Aadhar.
Get E-Aadhar by mAadhar Mobile Application
Step 1. Install mAadhar mobile application from the android play store on your mobile device.
Step 2. Create a password before importing your Aadhar profile on this mobile app.
Step 3. Create a password and open the app using the password.
Step 4. Now create your profile by providing your Aadhar number. Otherwise, you can also choose to scan the barcode on the Aadhar card instead of typing in the number.
Step 5. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
Step 6. After the OTP is entered, you will be able to see your Aadhar card.
Get Aadhar via Digilocker
DigiLocker is a cloud-based digital locker which is managed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MEIT). Individuals can store their documents and access it anywhere.
Steps to download Aadhar card using Digilocker are:
Step 1. Download Digilocker application and sign in.
Step 2. Select Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Step 3. Select and click Aadhar and give your consent for downloading Aadhar.
Step 4. Enter your Aadhar number and the OTP that will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 5. Once OTP is verified, you will be able to see your Aadhar card appear under the ‘Issued’ section of the app.
Get E Aadhar through Umang App
UMANG or Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance. Developed by the MEITY and National e-Governance Division to put advancements under Mobile Governance in India.
Steps to download E- Aadhar using the Umang App:
Step 1: Install and Open the Umang App
Step 2: Click on Aadhar Card under all services tab
Step 3: View Aadhar Card from DigiLocker
Step 4: Login with your DigiLocker Account or Aadhar number
Step 5: Enter the OTP which you received on your registered mobile number in Aadhar.
Step 6: Click on Verify OTP.
Step 7: Download your Aadhar Card by clicking on the download icon.
Masked Aadhar
A Masked Aadhar is an Aadhar for which the number is encrypted. The first 8 digits of Aadhar numbers are replaced with “XXXX-XXXX” while only the last 4 digits of the Aadhar Number are visible. It maintains the privacy of the individuals.
Printing Your Aadhar
Follow the below-mentioned steps to print your Aadhar Card.
Step 1. e-Aadhar is an encrypted pdf file.
Step 2. Enter the password. Your password will be the first four letters of your name (in capital letters) followed by the year of birth in the format YYYY.
Step 3. Once the file is opened, select the ‘Print’ option from the top right corner.
