There are various banks all over the globe that provide safety measures to their customers about Internet Banking. But people do not realize the consequences of unsafe internet banking. Bank account hacking has become a threat today, and it is increasing vigorously. So, the following are some steps that can make internet banking safer:
- Phishing Alert: Phishing is a technical word that means scam. There are many fraud emails that are sent to you. These emails look genuine asking for personal information, bank account numbers, and passwords for internet banking. People reply or click the links to these emails and get trapped by fraud.
- Keep your bank details confidential: Do not click the links that look suspicious. It is advisable to find the information on the concerned websites. Moreover, banks do not ask for bank details and other information through emails.
- Keep changing your password frequently: It’s always good to change the bank account password and keep the long passwords with mixed characters. Also, try to avoid banking through unsecured Wi-Fi systems. It is advised to write the password in your diary and save it on mobile.
- Report to the bank immediately in any emergency: Sometimes at ATM when you enter a password, you would enter the wrong password by mistake your card gets withheld by the ATM. In such a situation, it is better to inform the bank immediately so that they block the card instantly.
- Log out from the browser: If you have logged into a bank account, never leave it unattended. You should not forget to sign out and end the session. Also, clear the cache memories and history. It will keep all the details safe, and you do not have to worry about it.
