Government may Reconvene Parliament to save GST

Aug 26, 2015: The Government is considering re-approaching the parliament for another attempt to pass the GST (the Goods and National Sales Tax). Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that the tax reform in the name of GST was very crucial for the Indian economy. NDA government would try its best to make it a reality.

GST in Parliament
The GST if passed, will bring a single national sales tax to replace all other complicated taxes by the states and the central government. If this tax reform did not meet the deadline of getting implemented before April, this would create a negative impact on the investors in the easy opportunity to uplift the Economy.
The Congress has not let the GST passed that seems as the most ambitious reform of the government. They had said GST  to be anti- farmers and pro-industry, moreover, they had not let the parliament function.
However, the original version of the GST was drafted by Congress. Arun Jaitley had said that the Gst could add up to 2 percentage points to the growth of India.
