The country’s leading lender State Bank of India (SBI) has advised against loans that are being given by unauthorized digital platforms like mobile applications, which promises a quick and hassle-free process to everyone who is and not customers with the bank. The bank said in a tweet that one must be aware of dishonest apps providing loans. Also, it is requested to please not click on unauthorized links or provide your details to an entity imitating SBI or any other bank of the sort. Avoid clicking on suspicious links and always check the realism of any application before downloading it as cases are now hiking. SBI is one of the largest commercial banks in terms of its assets, branches, customers, deposits, and employees. It is also the gigantic mortgage lender serving for ages in the country.

SBI keeps alerting its customers regarding fraudulent practices from time-to-time. SBI recently also shared a few tips for all the customers to stay aware while making online transactions. The leading lender shared a small video clip in the tweet. Protect yourself from cyber-criminals by living active and conscious. Here’s what can be done to stay safe. The video showed the bank had notified customers about how always the financial service sector has always been a target for cybercrime, mentioned in their tweet. In the tweet, the SBI instructed citizens to actively and immediately report such cases of banking cyber frauds either to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or to the local police authorities near their home. Also, for those who are not aware, the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal is an initiative to enable victims to file complaints or to report cybercrime complaints online. This portal caters to injustice about cybercrimes only with focusing especially on cyber crimes against women and children.
