HDFC has done very well in recent years. HDFC Bank started with an office which just started to get renovated. From a room with broken glasses, they were interviewing people. They asked them to believe their vision. Then a group of people started believing their vision. The journey which was made by the HDFC Bank with many ups and downs. Now we can say that HDFC bank holds a major position in the financial market.
During those times the foreign brands consisted of product and the service and The local brands consisted of the brand, money and the distribution power. HDFC Bank dream of bringing both powers together and create such a strong company which can play a long inning.
As times change the requirement of the social changes and this rule was followed even in the banking sector. When the generation of technology arrived nobody was ready to stand in a queue for making a few transactions everybody wanted things to happen within seconds and when foreign brands started to introduce this technology it was very well accepted in India and it required the local brands to make a change in their products, marketing system and this was not accepted by many companies.
Those companies were further removed out of the run. Within this time HDFC bank started to turn itself, by also providing financial services. Now it was time for HDFC Bank to reach out to those middle-class people who didn’t get credit. They decided to provide such people personal, two-wheeler, agricultural and business loans.
During this COVID-19 period, there was high pressure on banks as it was getting more and more difficult for them to cover their losses in their balance sheet. As no one was ready to take loans and there was also a rise in the NPA’s some were also saying that the expiry date of banks has arrived. On the other hand, we would see two-wheeler companies, car companies, all were doing better, but HDFC Bank says that they had not taken the do or die risks. As now the government is also helping banks which help them financially as well as to reach their banks on a global level.
