Mahindra teases new segment-first feature of XUV700: Smart Door Handles

Mahindra teases a new segment-first feature of XUV700

Mahindra & Mahindra appears to have implemented a cunning content strategy to keep people talking about their new model, the XUV700. Another teaser video has been posted by the firm, revealing another function available on the new three-row SUV. It will be equipped with ‘Smart Door Handles,’ which will be incorporated in the doors and pop out when needed, unlike the corolla. Mahindra teases new segment-first feature of XUV700: Smart Door Handles

The ‘Smart Door Handles’ are flush with the body, giving the vehicle’s sides a cleaner appearance and possibly improving aerodynamics. In premium vehicles such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Aston Martin DBX, and others, flush-fitting door handles have become popular.

When the vehicle is unlocked, the door handles will allegedly come out and then retract when the vehicle is moving or parked. According to the company, it is a segment-first feature, and no other car in the same segment currently has one. The forthcoming XUV700 is expected to be driven by the same 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines that power the Mahindra Thar.

But, of course, because this is a different vehicle with a different function, the manufacturer will alter and optimise the engine slightly. The Mahindra XUV700 is slated to make its debut by the end of the year, and it will enter a category that has seen a lot of growth recently.
