MPOWER Financing Raises $100 million

Tilden Park Capital Management, King Street Capital Management, and others have funded MPOWER Financing, a company that gives out education loans, about $100 million (which is around Rs. 744.8 crores give or take). MPOWER Financing Raises $100 million from Tilden Park Capital Management, Others

This funding was an add-on to the $30 million raised earlier this year which was also funded by Tilden Park Capital Management which participated in this round again.

There are investors other than Tilden Park Capital Management that are involved in this, such as King Street Capital Management, Drakes Landing Associates, and Pennington Alternative Income Management.

MPOWER Financing founded in 2014 by Emmanuel “Manu” Smadja aims to take down the financial barriers when it comes to the financial situations related to education.

The new funds would be used to help the students from their Bangalore office which would help them with their education and students who are now wanting to study in the USA and Canada.

MPOWER Financing has its headquarters in the US capital, Washington. It has tied up with more than 350 Top Universities to help the students worldwide.

The Bengaluru and New York-based Zephyr Peacock helped MPOWER Financing set up its office in Bengaluru and now with the funds will make its presence be felt in India. It has been backed by Breega, Potencia Ventures, Goal Solutions, Grey Matters Capital, Cometa, AI8, DreamIt, 1776, Village Capital, Fresco, K Street, and University Ventures.

Chris Gamaitoni, MD of Tilden Park Capital Management, said that the company was invested in the ideals of MPOWER Financing which is to help students worldwide get their education without the financial barriers, which is why they have invested so much money in them and will hope to do in the future as well.
