Telangana Chief Secretary Urges Bankers to Revive the Economy

Telangana Chief Secretary Sri Somesh Kumar has urged bankers to take dynamic steps to increase the overall economic activities to advance growth in the State of Telangana.

A meeting was held by the Chief Secretary on Saturday at BRKR Bhavan, Hyderabad which was attended by Principal Finance Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, MAUD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar and bankers. Telangana Chief Secretary Urges Bankers to Revive the Economy

The CS asked bankers to organise loan melas, open counters in shopping malls, offer additional interest rebates on sales and simplify the loan process and documentation. 

Somesh also recommended bankers introduce new schemes for extending loans and accelerate decision-making to uptake consumption in Telangana. 

He urged bankers to advance more loans towards the purchase of vehicles, computers, electronic goods and garments to make the economy more thriving. 

Earlier, the Chief Secretary held discussions with stakeholders of retailers, shopping malls, tourist operators and the hospitality sector in Telangana and sought recommendations for the revival of the economy. 

He also asked the stakeholders to offer more discounts to attract consumers, keeping in mind the Covid-19 protocols. It was also mentioned by him that Lancet Journal has recently applauded the State’s Covid-19 control measures and vaccination strategy.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Secretary held talks with various stakeholders of retailers, shopping malls, tourist operators and the hospitality sector in the State and sought suggestions for restoration of the economy. He asked the stakeholders to offer more discounts to attract consumers in a big way, by maintaining Covid-19 protocols.
