Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, the government has decided to provide loans up to Rs. 1.5 lakh. This scheme, which was launched in 2015, training related to various industries is given to some youngsters which eventually helps them to get jobs. This scheme has been divided into phases and two phases of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship have already been completed. The third phase that focuses on strengthening the district skill committees falls under the third phase.
Interested youth can choose a course that he or she may be interested in. There are a total of 40 courses that an individual can choose from such as Food Processing, Electronics and Hardware, Furniture and Fittings, Gems and Jewellery and Construction. However, there are certain conditions that a candidate has to fulfill if he or she wishes to apply for this scheme.
The government not only provides training to these candidates but also gives a loan of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh. Anyone who has completed his or her higher secondary or post-graduation can avail of this. A job fair is also organized by the government every six months for anyone undergoing this training.
To take this training, a candidate fulfilling the conditions can register at https://pmkvyofficial.org. The applicant is required to provide some details including his or her name, address, and email ID. Once that is done, one can choose the field of expertise under his or her state.
This step by the government makes it easy for the youth to get training and a job in a world of uncertainties. It mostly helps the people belonging to lower-income groups who may not be able to afford fancy education. This scheme also has provisions for proper trainers who are skilled and pass on their knowledge to the youth of tomorrow. This step by the government has been proven very effective for the past five years and more and more eligible youth apply for it every year.
