Finance Ministry says that “No order has been issued regarding payment of hiked DA, DR”

Finance Ministry stated that there has been no order issued regarding the payment of hiked 

In a tweet, it was mentioned by the ministry that a document is doing the rounds on social media claiming resumption on DA to Central Government employees and DR to Central Government pensioners from July 2021. 

On Saturday, the finance ministry clarified that no order related to the payment of dearness allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and dearness relief (DR) to Central Government pensioners has been issued. Finance Ministry says that "No order has been issued regarding payment of hiked DA, DR"

It was explained in that tweet that the online OM (office memorandum) tweet was fake.

It was explained, “Given the crisis arising out of Covid-19, it has been decided that additional instalments of dearness allowance (DA) payable to central government employees and dearness relief (DR) to central government pensioners due from January 1, 2020, shall not be paid.”

The Department of Expenditure had mentioned, “The additional instalment of DA and DR due from July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021, shall also not be paid”  However, DA and DR at current rates will continue to be paid.
