The board of HDFC Bank admits Chakraborty’s name for the role of part-time chairperson of the bank in the meeting held on previous Monday. As per the talk the former economic affairs secretary, Atanu Chakraborty is inclined to be the upcoming chairperson of the country’s largest private sector lender. HDFC Bank also mentioned about one person aware of the matter. The authorization will be ruled by the Reserve Bank of India’s approval.
The board of HDFC Bank has announced Atanu Chakraborty’s name for the role of chairperson of the bank for the part-time as per decided by the bank in its meeting held on previous Monday. The present chairperson of the committee is Shyamala Gopinath is set to retire on the 1st of January. The nomination infers meaning as the bank had previously withstood a leadership evolution, with MD & CEO Aditya Puri retiring for it’s long time in October, and Sashidhar Jagdishan further took the charge in his place.
Atanu Chakraborty is looked upon as an appropriate bureaucrat. He has attended several big roles as the economic affairs secretary until his elderliness late by 30 April. In his long career as a civil servant, Chakraborty clasped various crucial responsibilities, including that of the secretary in the Ministry of Finance, in the economic affairs department, and the divestment department. He was also appointed as a secretary in the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) between 2018 and 2019, and economic affairs secretary from 2019 to April 2020. Chakraborty also clasped the role of the Director-General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) in the petroleum ministry in the history of his long and faithful journey of work.
